He was sentence to death — later commuted to 15 years in jail in 1999 - after the Islamic Fascist storm troopers attacked the defenceless students on the university ground fir holding aloof the blood stained T-Shirt of one of the fallen students. He was there in his capacity as a medic for helping those who's heads had been cracked open by the thugs.
He has now come to America after absconding prison after 9 years while on medical rest. He is now the spokesman of Human Rights in Iran.
