  • I was just in DC a few days ago. Oh well.
  • I think this would be my movie : a movie which makes people smart. Harry Potter movies and Transformer make me feel as if I were still 10 years old,,and other movies make me feel too old.

  • What an awesome clip!! I am sorry to have found out that this was already shown in southern CA and I missed it!! :-( I hope you bring it back here soon,
  • I just saw this movie yesterday. It is an EXCELLENT movie! More movies like this should be made and promoted. I strongly believe movies like this will promote the real peace in the Middle East and makes people start thinking form their head and heart and NOT their ASS as we have been doing it past 50 years since creation of Israel. Great Job!
    • Well said! I also watched it with my family. Great movie. I can also see how and why it can't be shown in the Middle East nations. Afew of the comments about Islam very very true and funny. I just can't see the Middle Easterners living in the Middle East also find it humorous. Very Nice Movie
  • I saw it today. Very well made movie. I strongly recommend this movie. I just shared it with my friends
  • Part of it was a bit boring, many part of it was funny. For sure, it is a MUST watch movie. It has the potential to get people thinking and taking it easy on many issues - particulary if from middle east
  • Cute and lovely movie
  • Is it already shown in NY? Looks like cools movie from this channel?
    • Yes NY around Feb 2008. Almost every week, new cinemas/cities are added across U.S. Please, from time to time, visiit official movie site for media reviews, press kit, photos, film clips and all cinemas' showtimes: www.DavidandLayla.com
  • Great, great movie. Just saw it in Dupont. Loved the characters and, of course, the efforts to promote cultural understanding. Great job.

  • This movie looks amazing. It's very refreshing to see this age-old religious conflict played out on a personal scale with very relatable characters. I think a film such as this can do nothing but good for society. Can't wait to see it.

  • cute and funny movie :-) I wish it had made it as big as my big fat greek wedding. There should have been more promotion about it. Frankly, I heard about it on Sun from this site. I just forwarded it to a couple of my friends.
  • I saw the movie and I enjoyed it very much. The story was close to my heart and beliefs. It was sort of like the stuggle I went thru myself. While both David & Layla's elders steal the comedic scenes, the lead actors take you thru emotional roller coaster. The ensemble was perfectly put together. Much like the fight between the Moslems and the Jews in the Middle East, the SUBJECT of the movie NEVER gets old cuz' it is an ongoing battle. Kudos to the director and the actors.
    • Thx. And Bravo for your noble work "for love & peace, why can't we get along?' through humor. Please see a comment I posted at 12:07 PM 08/25/07.
  • I am not from Middle East, but have been following the News and stories past 10 years or so. I think the timing for this movie is perfect. I wish Hollywood pormote more of these.
  • 'Lovely, but this J-M romance is not realistic?' This film is inspired by a true story. We know this taboo love exists for many individuals. But most hide it for fear of reprisals. OK- now it isn't realistic for whole nations. Nor was it 'realistic' for Europeans during their two devastating World Wars & the horrific Holocaust. Nor was it 'realistic' during U.S Civil War. But for a future M. East to be similar to today's W. Europe, of 'Freedom, Diversity, Joy, Love & Peace' we can always dream!
  • great movie..
  • thank you for every thing jay i am sooooo curious about the movie!!! hanna
    • Merci! Hopfully the film will show from 2009 onward in parts of Lebanon, Iraq, Turkey and Israel. The rest of the Middle East, controlled by religious fear and by cowardly, medieval, non-democtratic and racist governments, will see it via underground DVDs, Cyberspace DVD downloads and eventually via Satellite TV. Whether religions and governments like it or not, there will be many more David & Laylas in the world. Love conquers all!
  • thank you for every thing jay i am sooooo curious about the movie!!! hanna
    • It looks like I missed it. Will it be back to DC again or should by the DVD?
  • The reality owever is different in the global Islamic bigotry on non Muslims especially on Jews.
  • culture @ Art is the only powerfull weapon i believe in.. wich realy leave the strong effects & the only way u can send ur messages to viewers thru ur art.. i saw this film the first time very fast and i saw it again lastnight.. and i have to say that its realy respectful and original project & far form all stereo types..maybe its not easy to show it now here on in middle east yet.. but who know.. maybe in the future..but i guess u can show it in Egypt because already some egyptian men are married to jews girls in Sharm Al sheikh on the border between egypt and israel..
    • Cool. Some call it, Cutural Diplomacy or Art Diplomacy! War has not worked: millions dead, billions of dollars wasted. So let's try comedy. If that is not enough, let's how about sharing some delicious food? Perhaps accompanied with some beautiful music and irrestible dancing. And if all that is still not enough to make Peace, then how about some Sex? Let them make Love! That is one interpertation of David & Layla!
      • ha! very very well put. something along the lines of "eat, drink, and be merry"
        • and Bend It Like Beckham, My Big Fat Greek Wedding, Moonson Wedding, and maybe Westside Story, with a happy ending!
  • Seems a must-have collection...
