Ian Smith, former Rhodesian leader, dies at 88
Ian Douglas Smith, the former prime minister of Britain's rebellious colony of Rhodesia, who rose to power and slipped from it, committed to an unshakable belief that Africa without whites would not work, died on Tuesday. He was 88.
