  • Great article/data. It's amazing how many companies cut their marketing budget when the economy is down. Successful companies get smarter about how they spend their money through better segmentation and targeting and reap the rewards as the economy bounces back.
  • If sales are down add so much value that they can't help but buy. Even if your marketing budget only leaves you breaking even, at least you aren't the business that went under because the bean counters were too busy paying themselves, just like the CEOs.
