From measures to catch copyrighted content, to sponsored channels, shilling and blatant gaming of the system, YouTube isn’t what it used to be.
It seems the YouTube party might not go on forever, with the AP releasing a speculative piece that the site’s copyright protection system, which will launch by the end of the year, could damage its popularity. Meanwhile, Fortune is wondering how they’ll continue to run YouTube as an edgy independent site, avoiding any crossover with Google Video. And with commercial interests playing a bigger role, it seems to me that the honeymoon is over.
