Software giant Microsoft said that it has tapped company veteran Curt Kolcun to lead all of its business with federal, state and local governments, as well as education clients. Kolcum will serve as vice president of the company's U.S. public sector, based in DC. He replaces Linda Zecher, who had served in the role since 2003, and has been promoted to an expanded role within Microsoft's Worldwide Public Sector group. Kolcun, an 18-year veteran of the company, has been the vice president of Microsoft's federal government business since 2003. He also serves as vice chairman for the USO's metropolitan DC chapter.
