Doctors may recommend hysterectomy plus removal of ovaries to suppress PCOS, reduce ovarian cancer risk, or get rid of fibroids.
But consider the possible disadvantages. Removal of ovaries may lead to higher risk of death from cardiovascular disease and hip fracture, and may result in a higher incidence of dementia and Parkinson's disease.
