Social search returns results influenced by other people and what they find relevant. What's different about the way we do it at Searchles is that we let you decide which other users you trust to influence your search results and when you want to harness their collective brain power. For example, we let you search by keyword, tags or a combination of both in the following ways:
And More! We made this really easy so it's perfectly safe for you to try at home. Just try it a couple of times and you'll get the hang of it.
Yes. A bookmark or "posted link" at Searchles is just like that piece of cardboard with pictures on it they give you for free at bookstores and libraries — only you won't lose it and it won't fall apart. Bookmarks help you keep all of the information you find interesting on the web stored in one place - at Searchles - so you can find what you need quickly again or share it with friends. Recent Posts on the home page are an example of pages that users have recently "bookmarked."
A bookmarklet is an icon that is easily installed in your web browser whether you use Mozilla Firefox or Internet Explorer. Wherever you are on the internet, if you find a page you want to be able to easily reference again or share with your friends, all you do is click on the "Searchle it" bookmarklet icon. This will momentarily redirect you to a page within Searchles where the url and name of the page you want to save are automatically filled in for you. All you have to do is click submit and it is saved to your Searchles profile. You will then be immediately redirected back to the page you were on.
While you're using the bookmarklet, you don't have to but you may also want to assign tags, describe the article, assign it to a group that follows that particular topic, or share it with friends. You can do any of these things using the Searchles bookmarklet.
Take a look at the images below to see how this works.
