Is SEO is Not a Link Builder?
Note: …And a Link Builder is Not an SEO Most SEO’s agree that there are three components to higher search results; 1) good content, 2) onsite optimization and 3) quality link building. However, in my opinion, most SEO’s are not link builders and most link builders are not SEOs. I believe it boils down to two different personality types.

Top 10 Reasons McCain Lost the Election
Note: Seriously, it was the poor use of social bookmarking sites that did McCain in. While Obama’s use of social bookmarking and Digg in particular was a smear campaign full of conjecture, it had a huge effect. If anything, it simply overwhelmed the McCain social media marketers and they spent all their time playing catch up.

Google Rolls Out Friend Connect on Blogger
Note: Google rolls out full release of Friend Connect on Blogger last nite, but then the code fails and it is now back to the Blogger subset they are calling Following. In the end it is the same thing, just not the cool AJAX interface.

Note: A big part of Google's rise to search engine leadership was an algorithm called PageRank that assesses a specific page's importance by how many other Web pages link to it and by the importance of those linking pages. Microsoft researchers and academic collaborators, though, detailed an idea this week it calls BrowseRank that seeks to bring more of a human touch to that assessment.
