Saks Green House
Note:
The new kid on the green block, but certainly not new to upscale retailing, is Saks Fifth Avenue’s Greenhouse. They’ve done a very nice job of starting basic with a few great brands, like Beau Soleil, Song and EDUN in the clothing category. They also have men’s clothing and a couple of natural skin care products. We love the jewelry, made of recycled metals, from Alex and Ani. A White Apricot Top 10 pick!

Eco Friendly Fashion Trends: Green Earth Friendly Sustainable Design Clothing and Products At Modify
Note:
Now, here’s a website that’s thought of everything and their approach is novel. They have a broad range of brands, including…yes…Stewart+Brown. (Are we seeing a pattern here?). The homepage gives you a choice of shopping eco fashion or vintage fashion. And, the company also offers a “personal shopper” service, where you just fill out a simple form and they’ll help you out. If that wasn’t enough, in addition to women’s fashion and accessories, they have beauty products and home décor, not to mention a blog. We love their creativity! A White Apricot Top 10 pick!

Detox Your Home (Planet Green)
Note:
Homes are the sanctuaries where we play, rest, eat, and gather with family and friends. It's a no-brainer that we want them to be as healthy as possible. But a typical home's indoor air quality can be two to five times worse than that outside. Why? Cleaning products, furnishings, paint, and more can off-gas harmful fumes into the air; other things, such as laundry detergent, may contain harmful ingredients that aggravate delicate skin—not to mention what they do once they're sent down the drain. Luckily, detoxifying your home starts with simple steps like switching to greener cleaners and organic cotton sheets.

Become a "Hypermiler," Save Even More Gas (Planet Green)
Note:
New fuels are great, but in the meantime we should try and sip what we have instead of wasting it. To really get the most from every gallon of gas, you can become what's known as a "hypermiler," a term which is used even in metric countries because "hyperkilometerer" does not roll off the tongue.
Hypermilers really go the extra mile (ha-ha) to make sure their cars get the best mileage. While some of the steps are a little much even for us, there's good info to be gleaned from a hypermiler's best practices. We offer some of the best at Planet Green.
