Note: The Cuban rocker whose biting profanity-laced lyrics against the Castro government has previously gotten him in trouble is now in detention and expected to face trial Friday, according to human rights groups in Havana.

Herky buries himself in the sand to get a better look at bikinis and Bonecrushin' N*gga is trying to barbeque his soy patties but is interrupted by inconsiderate homosexuals and suburbanites. Funny stuff.

Veoh Wins Decision On Copyright Infringement
Note: A federal court judge in northern California has ruled in favor of Veoh in a case that involved safe harbor provisions of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA). The judge ruled that online video sites are protected under the act if they provide adequate notice to users about uploading copyrighted material, use technology to detect copyrighted material, take measures to control infringing users and spot checking videos.

Veoh Prevails in Infringement Lawsuit
Note: A California court has dismissed a copyright infringement case against Veoh, ruling that the Digital Millenium Copyright Act could not possibly require sharing sites to be solely responsible for vetting the content they host.

More than 30 Taliban killed and wounded in Afghanistan
Note: KABUL (Reuters) - Afghan and international forces killed or wounded more than 30 militants in fighting in the south and southeast of the country, the Defence Ministry and the U.S. military said on Thursday. Violence has surged in Afghanistan with more than 2,500 people, including 1,000 civilians, killed in the conflict in the first six months of this year, according to aid agencies. Afghan and international soldiers killed and wounded 18 insurgents in clashes in the district of Arghandab in the southern province of Zabul, the Defence Ministry said in a statement on Thursday.

Lebanese army helicopter hit and pilot killed | World | Reuters
Note: BEIRUT (Reuters) - A Lebanese army helicopter made a forced landing after being hit by gunfire in south Lebanon on Thursday, a Lebanese security source said, adding that the pilot had been killed. No other details were immediately available and it was not clear who had fired on the helicopter, which was forced down near the southern village of Sujoud -- north of a zone where U.N. peacekeepers have a mandate to operate. The army was expected to issue a statement, the security source said. The army deployed in the southern border region, along with a reinforced U.N. peacekeeping force, after Israel's war with Lebanese Hezbollah guerrillas in 2006. Ten Lebanese soldiers were among 15 people killed in a bomb attack in the northern city of Tripoli this month. There have been no claims of responsibility for the attack.

Political Theater-Obama Nominated by Acclamation by Clinton
Note: Well the drama of political theater unfolded that we haven’t seen in a while, as the roll call vote for Barack Obama’s Democratic Party nomination, went state after state honoring Clinton’s bid for the White House. Some states yielded unanimous votes by their delegation for Barack Obama... even though some of those states were won by Clinton, until they got to New Mexico where there were by everyone count, enough votes for the nomination to have the winning delegate count - but after much political fanfare New Mexico yielded to the state of Illinois where everyone thought that would be the appropriate end by casting the winning votes to break the delegate barrier for the nomination. But it was not to be.
