Posted by 747btrfly, at 03:37PM 07/23/08 : Ilan Goldenberg: Not a Gaffe: A Fundamental Misunderstanding of Iraq
Note: FTP: "The Awakening began in Anbar Province more than a year before the surge and took off in the summer and fall of 2006 in Ramadi and elsewhere, long before extra U.S. forces started flowing into Iraq in February and March of 2007. ....This is not controversial history. It is history that anyone trying out for Commander in Chief must understand when there are 150,000 American troops stationed in Iraq. It is an absolutely essential element to the story of the past two years. YOU CANNOT GET THIS WRONG. Moreover, what is most disturbing is that according to McCain's inaccurate version of history, military force came first and solved all of our problems. If that is the lesson he takes from the Anbar Awakening, I am afraid it is the lesson he will apply to every other crisis he faces including, for example, Iran." tags: gaffe

Posted by danglingwrangler, at 01:28PM 07/23/08 : Grayjing = Smoggy Beijing
Note: Grayjing is the nickname given to Beijing for it’s serious air pollution problems. Most of us have heard about by now the unusually smoggy conditions polluting Beijing’s (population 11 million), air - but seeing the conditions makes you wonder if the Chinese are going to be able to pull off their so called "blue sky days" during the 2008 Summer Olympics scheduled to start August 8th. Government claims have previously stated that the number of "blue sky days", when smog levels are lower than normal -less than 100 on a scale of 500 API (Air Pollution Index), has increased to around 240 days annually.

Note: What a lot of loosers --- this is my suggestion --It is all very well for the IRI to spend money and get you to go and protest against WAR - which is a noble cause BUT - what do you say about this ---" Nine face stoning death in Iran - At least eight women and one man are reported to have been sentenced to death by stoning in Iran. -BBC 7/20/08 " -
Would you like to go on the streets and protest about this bit of barbarism too? I suggest going straight to Tehran with a long piece of rope and stinging all the Fascist Mullah Mafia's of The NON - ISLAMIC. bloody NON REPUBLICAN, OF INVADERS OF IRAN and hanging them from the Pahlavi avenue's trees...How about it folks ---any volunteers? tags: iran

Note: Playing the drums for a rock band requires the stamina of a Premiership footballer, research suggests.
Tests on Clem Burke, the veteran Blondie drummer, revealed that 90 minutes of drumming could raise his heart rate to 190 beats a minute. tags: are groups: in Sport, Entertainment
