Google Has Changed Political Debate Forever
Note: Today Google released some information about what kinds of things viewers were searching for as that debate unfolded, minute by minute. It is amazing both that viewers were able to do such a thing, in real time, and that were able to watch what people are searching for.

Note: The now-bankrupt investment bank Lehman Brothers arranged millions in bonuses for fired executives as it pleaded for a federal lifeline, lawmakers learned Monday, as Congress began investigating what went so wrong on Wall Street to prompt a $700 billion government bailout.

'Nick And Norah,' Setting A New York Night To Music : NPR
Note: Nick's a sweet, dweeby high-school kid with girlfriend problems — a Michael Cera sort of guy, basically, so it's nice that Michael Cera actually plays him. His girlfriend, Tris, walks all over him, and as you can hear from the haplessly pathetic phone messages he leaves for her, he's having trouble dealing.

Note: It hasn't been all that long ago since the Russian space program was teetering on its last legs, while the American space program was moving along reasonably well. All of a sudden, the shoe's on the other foot. . .

Dow plunges below 10,000; lowest level since 2004
Note: Wall Street tumbled Monday, joining a selloff around the world as fears grew that the financial crisis will cascade through economies globally despite bailout efforts by the U.S. and other governments. The Dow Jones industrials skidded more than 300 points and fell below 10,000 for the first time in four years, while the credit markets remained under strain.

Note: I recently stumbled upon a fascinating video on YouTube that describes the threatening impact of climate change on the environment. It also shows how we got into our recent oil crisis, but also gives us hope that we can choose the right Presidential candidate who will “break us out of our deadly oil habit.”
