Note: Viacom has announced plans to distribute short video clips and full-length series episodes via Michael Eisner’s Veoh and social networking and music hub www.imeem.com. The MTVN outlets involved include Comedy Central, MTV and Nickelodeon.

EMI Plans New Music Portal
Note: EMI, one of the four biggest music labels, plans to roll out its own music portal. At the same time, the company says it has no plans to compete with iTunes, Amazon or other digital music stores. EMI intends to provide a resource to aid in music research and discovery with its new offering.

Announced yesterday by Darpa, the programs programs goal is to employ set of handheld devices to track down a particular signal emitter of interest, using radio frequency geolocation.
