China captain Wei punished for attack on former NBA player
Note: Gabe Muoneke was hit by a water bottle, chased into a corner, and surrounded by Shanghai Sharks players. The incident was captured on security cameras, and the footage was reviewed as by the league. Liu and teammate Cai each must pay a $7,300 fine and serve a 10-game suspension. Their team was fined $14,600, the association said.

A call to action for MMA fans in NY
Note: In January 2009, the NY State Assembly re-convenes to discuss the legalization of Mixed Martial Arts events... The reason the last bill was shot down was because MMA is deemed to be too savage, barbaric and unsafe. It was even compared to dog and cock fighting.

Note: While UFC doesn't control their fighters in regards to what they say in the press, the fact remains that the organization will react to fighters who spout off against the company in media channels. Because UFC is the only game in town, it becomes much easier for fear to play a role in what fighters will say and will not say on-the-record.

Note: Exactly 300 schools have been to the NCAA tournament. Every "Big Six" conference team has been at least twice. All save for South Florida have been at least five times... But not Northwestern. You can't spell "nuh-uh" without NU.
