Women's Mideast Peace Movement Marks 20 Long Years
Note: JERUSALEM (WOMENSENEWS)--As a Woman in Black, Gila Svirsky says she has been pushed by passersby, called a traitor and a whore, and even targeted with flyers advertising her contact information and urging harm to the "black widows."

Wars Cost $15 Billion a Month, GOP Senator Says
Note: The latest estimate of the growing costs of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and the worldwide battle against terrorism - nearly $15 billion a month - came last week from one of the Senate's leading proponents of a continued U.S. military presence in Iraq.

Note: Much was made of Illinois Senator Barack Obama's superb speech to a huge crowd of Iowa Democrats at the mid-November Jefferson-Jackson Day dinner in Des Moines. Without a doubt, it helped to propel Obama ahead of New York Senator Hillary Clinton in polls conducted in the weeks after the event.

Climate Change Gives Rise to New World Order
Note: Once again, humanity is facing the risk of catastrophe. The terror of destruction by nuclear missiles ready to be launched at the touch of a button has given way to the disturbing possibility of global warming going past the point of no return, and this is turning traditional international coalitions and geopolitical concepts upside down.
