Yahoo, Verizon Renew Partnership
Note: Yahoo and Verizon Communications have renewed their working relationship. Under the deal announced on Wednesday, Verizon high-speed Internet subscribers will have the opportunity to use a cobranded Verizon-Yahoo portal that includes Yahoo’s search, email and instant-messaging services. Verizon users also have Microsoft or AOL as options, but Yahoo will remain as the first option.

Travel Insurance
Note: You know how your mother always tells you to wear clean under wear in case you’re in an accident, that’s kind of what travel insurance is like. You have to have it just in case because should something unfortunate happen (cross your fingers, turn in a circle three times to the left and spit on your right shoe for luck) you are really going to want to be covered for it.

Ticket sites blamed for insane NFL prices
Note: Today in New York, my driver was not happy. He is a New York Giants fan. The new NFL season begins tomorrow, with the Giants hosting the Washington Redskins. Despite being on the waiting list for season tickets since 1984, Tony has given up hope of ever buying a ticket.

Gannett Takes Majority Stake in CareerBuilder
Note: Gannett announced the $135 million acquisition of an additional 10 percent stake in CareerBuilder today from Tribune, putting them at 50.8 percent controlling interest in the online job site, according to a press release.

Mark Cuban: How Do You Beat Google?
Note: It's an older article, but just found it. It is an interesting thought exercise. Really what MS needs to do is to pay websites a portion of the advertising for clicks they get to their site. It sounds backwards, but I think it makes sense.

Wigix Sellers --> Use Google Chrome
Note: As an online retailer, we are always looking for ways to list products faster and surf the Internet quicker. eBay offers bulk upload, and we can only assume that Wigix is working on a comparable tool. Until a bulk upload tool is created, Wigix sellers should use Google Chrome to browse the Internet and upload new listings.
