March 8 London Seminar on Women's Rights, the Veil and Islamic and Religious Laws
Note: Sonja Eggerickx: President of the International Humanist and Ethical Union; Ann Harrison: Researcher, Middle East and North Africa Department of Amnesty International’s International Secretariat, Maryam Namazie: Director of the Worker-communist Party of Iran’s International Relations Committee, 2005 National Secular Society’s Secularist of the Year Award Winner and producer of International TV and Taslima Nasrin: Physician, writer, radical feminist, human rights activist and secular humanist will speak at this seminar. We will also show, for the first time, a short film entitled: “In the name of honour” by Reza Moradi at University of London Union, Room 3D, Malet Street, London WC1E 7HY. From 6:00 – 10:00pm

Iran's female fans yet to win equality
Note: Since the Islamic Revolution Iranian women have not been able to attend football matches, but in the run-up to the World Cup President Mahmoud Ahmedinejad said families including women should be let in to special sections of the stadiums.

The Third Camp - Manifesto of the Third Camp against US Militarism and Islamic Terrorism
Note: The present conflict between the Western governments and the Islamic Republic of Iran can have disastrous human, political and social consequences. The terrible experience of Iraq has shown to all the catastrophes that can result from economic sanctions and a military attack. Deterioration of living conditions, economic plight, death, destruction and displacement of people, and increased repression by the Islamic regime, would be some of the immediate consequences of economic sanctions or a military attack on Iran. This policy would unleash Islamic terrorism on a regional scale and escalate it internationally.
