Travel Insurance
Note: You know how your mother always tells you to wear clean under wear in case you’re in an accident, that’s kind of what travel insurance is like. You have to have it just in case because should something unfortunate happen (cross your fingers, turn in a circle three times to the left and spit on your right shoe for luck) you are really going to want to be covered for it.

Meditation slows AIDS progression
Note: WASHINGTON: Meditation may slow the worsening of AIDS in just a few weeks, perhaps by affecting the immune system, US researchers reported. If the findings are borne out in larger studies, it could offer a cheap and pleasant way to help people battle the incurable and often fatal condition, the team at the University of California Los Angeles said on Thursday.

Smoking riskier to women's hearts than men's
Note: According to the research's results more and more women start smoking. In fact they don't realize what harm they do to their health. They understand it only when they have a heart disease that happens in 66. Besides it influences other parts of our body.

Family breast cancer may not be risky
Note: New research suggests that just because a woman has family members with breast cancer, it does not mean that she should undergo early screening.According to the report, there are certain factors doctors can look for to determine whether early screening is advisable. "Breast cancer is very common. Familial clustering is also rather common," Geertruida H de Bock, the study's first author, said. "About 25-30% of breast cancer is family clustered, but the (rate) of breast cancer in the family is not very useful in predicting if you will get breast cancer."

Doctors Refuse Fertility Treatment to Undesirable Patients
Note: Few insurance companies pick up the tab, so patients themselves decide where to spend their considerable money, and they do this largely based on a clinics success rate. As a result, many doctors try to game the system, producing high live birth success rates by cherry-picking patients. Lesbians, the disabled, and older women are often refused.

Why Having An Extra Wife May Lead To A Longer Life
Note: Research suggests that men from polygamist cultures live 12 per cent longer than those who limit their affections to one woman at a time. It is thought men benefit from having a fuss made over them by a gaggle of women. They may also better care of themselves into old age when they have a large family to feed, this weeks New Scientist reports.
