Note: Shawn Johnson won the balance-beam gold Tuesday night in the final event of womens gymnastics at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. Deeper Beijing Pool Responsible For Tumbling Swimming Record
Note: Spectators at Beijings Olympic swimming pool have witnessed some outlandish goings-on over the last couple of weeks: 25 world records have fallen, compared with eight at the Athens Olympics four years ago. Seven of them were broken by one swimmer, Michael Phelps of the US.

Jean Yves Blondeau, Rollerman
Note: Meet French designer Jean-Yves Blondeau. He’s invented the Buggy Rollin’ suit. It’s a suit that attaches wheels to every part of the body. All the major joints, chest and back become roller skates. This allows one to travel in almost any position. This strange contraption has earned Blondeau the name Rollerman. But Blondeau isn’t satisfied cruising sidewalks. He takes his suit to the extreme. He’s recorded a top speed of nearly 70 mph. He puts that speed to use in this video. You’ll see him rocket down a twisting road in the Swiss Alps.

US Crushes Spain in Basketball
Note: Thats probably enough talk about statement games for Team USA in the Olympic basketball competition. Tonights 119-82 destruction of Spain, the 2006 World Champions, was more like a throwback game: a throwback to the days of the Dream Team, when the US seemed to play a different class of hoops than its competitors...

Note: Armed guards ordered 274 stranded passengers out of the Punta Cana airport with no place to go after bad weather forced U.S. Airways to cancel its flight from the Dominican Republic to Philadelphia.

Trim Castle
Note: On the south side of the Boyne River rises a magnificent stronghold, Trim Castle, the largest Anglo-Norman castle in Ireland. The castle was constructed over a thirty year period by Hugh de Lacy and his son Walter. Hugh de Lacy was granted the Liberty of Meath by King Henry II in 1176 in an attempt to curb the expensionist policies of Richard de Clare, {Strongbow}. The Castle is also known for the part it played in the filming of the Mel Gibson directed film Braveheart.
