Girl Loses Legs at Six Flags
Note: In a grisly, freak accident on Thursday, a 13 year-old girl lost her legs when the Superman: Tower of Power ride she was on had a cable snap, whipping in the air and severing the child's legs.

WiFi in Avis Cars
Note: After you rent a car, you throw on the bluetooth headset, plug in the iPod and hit the road. But driving is so boring, it would be so much more entertaining if you could surf the web while you were driving instead of having to stare at the stupid road the whole time.

Crash Cars
Note: Summertime is upon us which means that it's time to hit the road while you take advantage of your paltry 12 vacation days a year. Have you ever been on the interstate and wondered what that shiny, new 2007 Ford Mustang would look like after a head-on collision? Well Consumer Reports was kind enough to post their videos of crash tests of tons and tons of cars. Just pick the car manufacturer and model and then sit back and watch it get it totaled.

Cell Phones Still Banned on Planes for 3 Stupid Reasons
Note: We've been waiting ages to annoy the hell out of you by talking incessantly through a whole flight as loud as possible on our cell phones. But as of yet, it still hasn't come to pass and there are 3 reasons why: the airlines, the cell phone companies and the government.

Hotel WiFi Keeps Getting Worse
Note: HotelChatter has recently released their annual report on the state of WiFi in hotels around the country and the consensus is that it's getting worse. It appears WiFi access, especially free WiFi access, is as inconsistent as ever - sometimes you have it in the lobby but not in your room, sometimes you have to be a part of the hotel's loyalty program to plug in, sometimes you just have to pay 10 bucks a day. HotelChatter did find a few hotels worth praising though-

The Truth is out There in New Mexico
Note: New Mexico done went and got themselves a sense of humor and their new tourism advertisements playing up their association with Area 51 are pretty hilarious. Unfortunately we couldn't embed the video of their ads here but hop on over to their New Mexico, Earth web site and check out their new ad campaign.

Note: Flexpetz just recently launched in Southern California and is set to spread all over the country in the coming months. The idea is that some of us want canine companionship but don't have lifestyles accommodating to ownership because of travel, living arrangements, etc. With Flexpetz you can rent a dog for just a few hours or for up to a week at a time.

$10 Flights Coming Soon
Note: Europe's had it fair share of super-cheap discount airlines for quite some time now. But soon we will see the RyanAir / EasyJet model hit in the skies over Columbus, Ohio. Skybus is set to make its debut next month and while most of their tickets will be about 50% cheaper than their competitors, they are also offering 10 one-way tickets on every flight for just $10.

Note: Between now and the end of the decade, over 38,000 hotel rooms will be built in Sin City with an estimated value of $30 billion. Here's a quick rundown on some of the major construction taking place right now in Las Vegas-

Note: Led Zeppelin may already be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame but we're sure they were jealous when Disney decided to build an Aerosmith roller coaster in Orlando in 1999. Finally, the fates have smiled on Jimmy Page and Robert Plant and by 2008 Myrtle Beach will be graced with a 15-story looping steel roller coaster that promises to get the Led out.

Note: A Northwest Airlines flight from Las Vegas to Detroit was canceled on Saturday after the captain was overheard swearing on his cell phone in the bathroom as passengers boarded the plane. Here's the official report from Ian Gregor, an FAA spokesman...
