Pandora Gets A Boost From IPhone Users
Note: According to Pandora CEO Tim Westergreen, the iPhone has enabled the Internet music site to double its growth rate. He said that the Apple phone users now account for 1.5 million of Pandora’s 17 million users doubling Pandora’s growth rate from 20,000 to 40,000+ new users a day.

MySpace Reports A Billion Music Streams
Note: MySpace has announced that its new MySpace Music service streamed a billion songs since its launch on Sept. 25. In a statement, the Web site said, “We’re extremely pleased with the launch of MySpace Music clearly our users around the world are engaged and excited about the new music experience on MySpace.”

Van Morrison To Perform Full “Astral Weeks” During Hollywood Residency

Internet Radio Operators Cautiously Optimistic
Note: Internet radio operators are also affected by previous increases in royalty payments. When the CRB raised royalty rates in 2007, Webcasters felt an “immediate and devastating effect,” according to SaveNetRadio, a nonprofit group. Three of the most popular – AOL Radio, Yahoo Radio and Pandora – have already limited listener access, shut down, or anticipate shutting down.

Online Music Royalties Threaten Internet Radio, iTunes
Note: Today the Copyright Royalty Board is scheduled to take a vote on increasing the royalties paid to artists for online music sales. The National Music Publishers Association is requesting the royalty be raised from nine cents to 15 cents.
